Oak View ES Has First Dance Party
by Brook Asamenew
GRADE 6, OAK VIEW ES
At Oak View Elementary School we had a Valentine's dance on February 12. The party was only for the fifth and sixth grade students. It was the first party in the school. Some teachers, parents, administrators and even a DJ was there. Most people liked the party. One student said, "It was the bomb."
The party was in Oak View's gym. The fifth and sixth grade SGA members were the ones who came up with the idea of having a dance party, and they decorated the gym. They said they really wanted to have one. And they said that they did not want to leave the school without having a party. All the students thought that they behaved and danced well. "I danced because I liked the music," said a girl from Ms. Olive White's sixth grade class.
During the party the teachers danced, too. Students said that they liked the way the teachers danced. "They danced our way," said a sixth grader. ENN asked White's class who they thought was the best dancer from the teachers. Not surprisingly, all the students said that their own teacher was the best.
The sixth grade students said that they also liked the DJ's music. The two people who said they knew someone who would be a good DJ were members of the SGA. The DJ's name was Kevin. He has been a DJ in some other places, too. "He puts on the music we like," said a student from White's class.
The sixth grade students said they also liked the food. They hope that they have another party just like this one.
